Old Seminole Field was christened Seminole Stadium March 28, 1983, after a one million dollar renovation was completed on the park. The stadium was dedicated in honor of Dick Howser in March of 1988 prior to an exhibition game between Florida State and the Kansas City Royals, two of Howser's former teams.
