Biographical Note
Seymour was a West Point graduate. He was present at the bombardment of Fort Sumter (South Carolina). Seymour was Commander of the U.S. Army expedition in Florida, and at the Battle of Olustee.
General Seymour was born in 1824, and died in Italy in 1891.
