Voters!
Some of my friends are asking that I explain what I meant
in my speech in referring to the Bootlegger's Vote. I mean this -
The Bootlegger and his friends' votes are large enough to elect
a candidate to any office in Florida. This vote includes the
Bootlegger and his customers of every walk in life. If there is
a candidate who does not want this vote let him say so.
I wish to announce also that there is not any truth in the
rumors that my campaign is being financed by any Secret Order,
Church, Ku-Klux-Klan, Al Smith, or Gasoline Tax Money.
As to my pardoning men convicted of criminal assault, no
prisoners of this class have ever been pardoned in the history of
Florida. All pardons can only be granted by an affirmative vote
of the Board of Pardons, consisting of five members, the Governor
having only one vote.
If you love your state and wish to see it prosper, having
more and bigger Farms, Ship Building Plants and Factories with
plenty of work for the Working Men - then Vote for
Sidney J. Catts
for Governor
Pay no attention to Eleventh Hour Campaign Lies that are being
circulated against me.
