Dear Miss Bender[sic]:
This Division is preparing a series of 10 half-hour tapes on teaching by television, titled "Through the TV Tube. " The series is being taped at WEDU in Tampa, and is scheduled for Miami and Orlando in late summer. It will be widely used throughout the state.
Three of the 10 tapes will be examples of good studio teaching at elementary, secondary, and college levels in three disciplines, science, humanities, and history. You have been recommended to us by Mr. Edward Herp of WFSU as a person who could do an excellent job in the area of elementary history. We will need about eight minutes of teaching for this example, since the other two school levels in your discipline will also be presented during one half-hour program.
Arrangements will be made for the taping to be done during the month of June at WFSU, which is the station most convenient to you. We will be able to offer you travel expenses, full credits on the tape, and a small honorarium.
We are inviting you and the other two history teachers to meet with us con cerning the subject and treatment of the examples. If you are interested, would you be able to come to Gainesville at our expense on May 28, 1964? The meeting is tentatively scheduled for about 10:30 a. m. until 3:00 p. m.
We hope that you can join us in this effort.
Sincerely,
