We have been such for the last twenty years in Florida. We voted Republican in the last state and national elections. We felt someone had to stop the ever increasing taxation burden. Somewhere we had to find someone with the guts to say no. The present attempt of the FEA to blackmail and coerce the people of Florida into expenditures beyond our ability to pay is a prime example. We thank you for saying no. We are very disturbed there are so many of our elected representatives who cannot see the temper of the people. I feel certain the next elections will bring a dawn of understanding to many of those. We have four children and naturally we desire an education for them, however, we will not agree to a power mad group of union organizers basing that education on their greedy demands. We ask you to tell the teacher's representatives (?) Tornillo, Hagman, Dean, etc that the people of Florida are sick of their attempted [thievery]. They state the teachers are willing to resign, then let them. Let the state reclaim their benefits. If they don't want to work for what we can pay, let them find their livelihood somewhere else. I am certain they will get a rude shock when they find what their talents will bring on an open market. I and my family are not willing to do business on their terms and my children will go without school until such a time as they realize who the bosses are. Sincerely, L. C.
