Howdy Jitterbugs:
Hope your trip home was safe and that all goes well in your family. Certainly enjoyed knowing you all during that week and that final party topped it off for me and I might safely assume for you too as well (smile).
It seems fitting and proper, what with student demonstrations taking place all over our great nation to remind us of our dedication to the ideal of Freedom for all men, that we here in the Nation's Capital mark America's Independence Day (July 4th) with a tribute to youth leaders. It is our fervent hope that enough leaders of 'sit-in' demonstrations can come to Washington DC the [weekend] of July 1st to make this possible.
Plans are only tentative at this point and their formalization depends in part on
1. whether or not you can participate
2. whether or not funds are available to help subsidize your transportation, lodging etc. (We have some funds but not enough to pay all the bills for everybody)
3. your rapid reply to the above queries
We sincerely hope that you may find it possible to help make this year's Fourth of July oratory truly meaningful to that segment of the American population that is yearning so earnestly for "FREEDOM NOW".
Ezell, Bernard, etc expect to come up for this as [there] should be big doings. Please try to be available. Priscilla I will try to get extra fellows lined up starting now. (smile)
