Description

Orval L. Shobe, a printer in Orlando, writes to Governor Doyle Carlton, asking him to call a special session of the Legislature to pass a new law requiring banks to guarantee their deposits. Shobe notes that this sort of law had been passed in Kansas and Oklahoma. Shobe is moved to write at this time because of the unfolding banking crisis that was occurring in Florida and elsewhere around the nation. Banks in Orlando were shutting down.
