Dear Lady:

I am writing you this letter as a grateful cuban refugee in your big, great and generous country.

I have being educated in U.S.A. and since I born I was taught from my cradle up to love and friendship between Cubans and Americans.

Day will come, and I”m sure it will be very soon, when my country will be free again, and after being wiped off from communism, Democracy will shines again in Cuba to joint the free Countries of the world.

But in the meantime, while we anxiously wait for our “V-Day” and the call to banners to fight for our God, Fatherland and Democracy, we, as men without a country, as found in the U.S.A. and the American People the greatest deal of simpathy [sic] and generosity and as long as such as country like this be alive, freedom and democracy shall never perish from earth.

I thank you Mrs. Pence, I thank you Mr. Flaherty and I should say thanks to the Cuban Refugee Center’s program in the name of all the decent, honest and democratic Cubans now under the shadow of the great American flag.

Keep your task in the name of humanity, God Bless America and its people and we Cubans are proud to be here with you.
