My dear Governor:- It gives me great pleasure to receive your appointment as a member of the Everglades National Park Commission to represent Florida and to express my appreciation for this assignment for such a distinctive service to the State. I consider it a [privilege] to be selected as one to serve with other outstanding citizens. You may rest assured that I will do every thing possible to bring the Everglades National Park in to being as soon as possible and trust to not only merit my appointment but re-flect credit upon your selection.
