Description

A letter from Major Galusha Pennypacker of the 97th Pennsylvania Infantry to Major Thomas B. Brooks about transporting lumber. Major Pennypacker also includes an enclosure with a copy of a report he wrote to Colonel Henry R. Guss detailing an expedition he led with a detachment of the 97th Pennsylvania Infantry Regiment to the Woodstock and Kings Ferry mills to procure lumber for Union military use. The mills were located along the St. Marys River in Florida near the Georgia border.
