A letter from Captain Alfred Sears of the 1st New York Engineers to Major Thomas Benton Brooks reporting on an extensive survey of Amelia Island and commenting on the lumber recently acquired from mills up the St. Marys River. He requests some of the material to use as flooring for soldiers' barracks.
