He led the Dixie Highway Pathfinders in a 15 car calvacade from Chicago through Indianapolis, Louisville, Nashville, Chattanooga to Miami.
The Packard he is sitting upon was built especially for Carl Fisher in 1914. He used it as the pace car in the 1915 Indianapolis 500. Carl Fisher was one of the principle investors in the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
