Eastern European

A multitude of cultures located roughly between Germany and the Ural Mountains have contributed to the musical traditions of Eastern Europe. The bandura, fiddle, flute, hurdy-gurdy, hammered dulcimer, accordion, violin, and cello are prevalent in the music from this region. Performers of Eastern European music in the Folklife Collection include Yarko Antonevych, Michael Tarakus, and Father Nikodim Pribojan.
