CYPRESS KNEELAND
A 3 in 1 attraction
1. Cypress Knee Museum
2. World's First Cypress Knee Factory
3. 2,000 ft. Catwalk in beautiful Cypress swamp.
1. Since 1934 I have roamed the cypress swamps of Florida and outher Southern states sering for rare cypress knees. You could not travel with me through the swamps and the years and the see the marvelous sights I saw, but you can see the most beautiful knees I found beacuse I have put them in a Museum, built around the world's largest transplanted Cypress tree. In the Museum I tell all. How I got the idea. How the first knee was peeled. The collection is fantastic, artistic, humorous. One with a well-oiled imagination can see in the knees shapes of nearly everything that was and is yet to be. Animals, birds, and people will recognize, good and bad. It is also scientific, as many examples of controlled growth are shown. Knees grown around things, writing grown in knees, etc. And knees which grew in 22 states, N.Y., Pa., Del., Ill., Ohio., Ind., to name a few.
2. Nearby, in an Oak and Cabbage Palm hammock, is the world's first cypress knee factory. I built it to use and never dreamed that the purely practical, weather-beaten pioneer type architectrue would itself someday be an attraction, but people like to look at it too, and photograph the novel woodworking machinery, cypress knee railroad, old bones, and other objects that became collected.
"On sale is a conglomeration. The finest in Cypress knees, turkey calls, puzzles, swamp cabbage in any quantity, and educational free enterprise literature which promotes the free situation that made it possible for the cypress knee industry to be."
