Florida's Playground City
Mount Plymouth
Beautiful Homes
Homes at Mount Plymouth are distinctive in type and are of unusual charm. In architecture they are reminiscent of Old English, Spanish and Italian design and with an occasional home following Colonial pattern they offer a colorful variation to the architectural scheme.
Mount Plymouth
Location
Mount Plymouth lies northwest of Orlando, which is 19 miles away by road. Jacksonville, the largest of Florida cities in 153 miles to the north. Tampa is not quite four hours by train to the southwest.
World-famous Daytona Beach, one the Atlantic's surf, is reached by motor car over admirable roads, in two hours unhurried driving.
Within immediate access of Mount Plymouth are a score of thriving towns of the modern kind. Eustis, Mt. Dora, Leesburg, Tavares, Ocala, Deland, Sanford, Apopka, Winter Park- the farthest of them is distant but an hour or two of comforable motoring.
Winding up the St. Andrews. Not the large sporty green.
Environment
Mount Plymouth is nearly the exact center of the rich orange-growing region which forms the "solid central section" of Florida.
Here the highlands surround you. The town itself lies upon a broad hilltop plateau, looking out across seemingly endless vistas.
Like all highland regions, this is a land of lovely spring fed, crystal clear lakes which dot this wide expans of rolling hills.
It is a prosperous, modern, self-supporting country. This winter visitor, the tourtist, the passer-by while a most welcome guest is not a dependent source of revenue.
Your neighbors here are substantial prople, who make ever icnreasing profits from the cultivation of citrus fruits and from specialized trucking in a rich soil amid ideal climactic conditions.
This fact is stressed because people realize now that the permanent basis for values in a suburban or city development is the prosperity of the countryside about it.
Accessibility
No part of Florida is more accessible than Mount Plymouth. Midway from caost to cast, half way between Jacksonville and Tampa, this Playground City is reached by a veritable net work of good roads. within Orange County are more than 600 miles of magnificent highways and a new bond issue of seven millions dollars was voted for last year for additional improved roads.
The Counties of Lake and Seminole and Marion are likewise spending milliosn of dollars for new highway construction and hundreds of miles of splendid roads give eloquent testimony to the progressiveness of these wide away counties.
The Atlantic Coast Line Railroad provides the best of train service to and from the new Golg Capitol.
Progress
A year of active construction has resulted in marked progress at Mount Plymouth. The St. Andrews Links, eighteen incomparable holes with sporty hazards, greens of velvet and interesting fairways, was completed in the fall of 1926. The Glen Eagles course, eighteen additiona holes winding up and over the hills is built and seeded.
Our Club House costing with furnishings and equipment more than $350,000 and having complete hotel facilities and accomodations was opened on January 12, 1927. Every buyer of a lot in Mount Plymouth is complimented with a 20 year free membership in the country club, carrying with it the use of golf links at will.
A maintenance fund has been established to maintain the club and keep the course in the best of condition.
Many miles of hard finished streets and avenues 50 to 80 feet wide are beautified with fast growing water oaks. Six inch water mains and three inch feeder lines have been laid throughout the property which carry to the residents of Mount Plymouth soft, sweet palatable drinking water from artesian wells, sunk deep into the rock. A steady flow of 500 gallons into the rock. A steady flow of 500 gallons a minute assures an ample suppy and pump and storage tankage provide necessary pressure.
A Florida Public Service Company maintains excellent light and power service to Mount Plymouth homes.
The new eighteen foot concrete highway passing through the business section of Mounty Plymouth connects Mt. Dora seven miles westward with Sanford just fifteen miles due east.
The Rock Springs highway recently completed, an excellent macadamized road connects with Apopka to shorten the distance to points South by some seven miles.
A one shot hole if you're good is the fifth of St. Andrews

Pastimes and Privileges
Fishing is one. For ever fifteen miles Mount Plymouth borders beautiful lakes of sparkling water. Black bass, the gamest fish that swims (say some), simply abound in these lakes. The place has been carefull preserved, and- as Mount Plymouth grows- will continue to be. Therefore, the residents here have a fishing resort at their very doorways!
Boating... Bathing... Swimming... and aquatic sports of ever kind, will feature the shining days here through the coming years.
Tennis and other activ sports have thier place in the day's routine for those who wish them.
Three miles away in a bee line lies the Wekiwa River forest. A good road leads to the very edge of this almost virgin forest which fairly teems with feathered game.
St. Andrews number one tee and Club-Hotel
Quail... Wild Turkey... O'possum... Squirrel... are more than plentiful.
Down the bypaths, deer are found aplenty. One can shoot one's license limit almost any day in the open season. Now and then the hardiest hunter, going farther into this game-haunted tract, come out with a bearskin trophy.
A nowhere north or south can the ardent golfer find such opportunity to prove his game as here. Daily if he choose over courses that test his skill that delight his soul that reward excellence and punish carlessness, he can play to his heart's content.
Details
Mount Plymouth offers the investor an agreeable choice of homesite or commercial location through the arrangement of the lots here in four groups, to-wit:
LAKE FONTAGES: Many will consider these lake-front resident lots, the ideal site for a home.
LINKS FRONTAGE: Some will rejoice at the opportunity to build where the becking tees lie- almost under their bedroom windows.
Real hazards such as this one makes Mt. Plymouth's courses the envy of all Florida. Bring an old ball along for the fish.
PARKWAYS: In every respect the lower-priced residents, anywhere along the wide and picturesque avenues are eminently good values for a moderate sum.
BUSINESS DISTRICT: Like every up-and-coming community, Mount Plymouth will have its stores and its fashionable shopping district. This section has been thoughtfully planned, with an eye to accessibility and attractiveness.
Intending residents will like to know that the planners of Mount Plymouth have provided a service section, set somewhat apart from the main ways of the community yet entirely easy of access from every part of it. It is a feature which will make for the solving of the "servant problem" here.
