My Dear Sister-
I just returned from a three days stay in Tampa. I went down to locate a position and I think the prospects are quite good. I think I have landed a position with an automobile supply co. but will not know until the last of the week.
I am quite delighted with the way things are looking for it will mean a great deal to me if I get it. [The] fellow who was let go from the place, because of unsatisfactory work, was getting $20 per week. Now I do not hope to start [off] with that but am sure I can get it in a short time. You have an idea of the size of this place -- something like Hydetown, while Tampa is a city of 70 000 people and a gulf town. Some pretty good steamers dock there.

My Dear Sister-

[The] fellow who was let go from the place, because of unsatisfactory work, was getting $20 per week. Now I do not hope to start [off] with that but am sure I can get it in a short time. I surely need a change. No doubt I can realize some ambitions once I get in Tampa. I know I can make good in the auto business but I do not care to make a life work of it. I want to stick to engineering. I ought to be able to go to [college] next year if I make good down there so you see what it means to me.
Now about those apples. I was only [joking] when I quoted our Reverend friend Mr. Boreham. Oh yes I want the apples but [didn't] mean to beg them. When Florida fruit gets good I will return the gift. At present let me try to thank you tho[sic] I fear I cannot. Your kindness will be returned.
About those [caponizing] tools. A friend of mine has them at present but I will get them and send them to you soon.
I addressed a letter to some time ago and it came back. I sent it to Titusville but did not put on the [route] number but had the R.F.D. on it. I meant to write before but have put it off.
We are all well and have stood the summer heat pretty fair.
Tell me about yourself when you write.
The same Algy
