There are no natural phenomena in this county productive of disease, but on the contrary the country is very healthy. The lands range from the richest hammocks to quite sterile pine & scrub. Running water is not plenty, but is generally good. Range good. On the highest hills lime & sand stone intersected with shale & other marine substances is found. There are considerable caverns in this county. The greatest curiosity is the Silver Spring, so called from the transparency of the water. It is about eighty feet deep, nearly surrounded by perpendicular rock. Small steamers load & unload at its head. It empties into [the rest of the text is cut off]
