Description

Letter from Mrs. J.H. Cooke of Detroit to Tallahassee City Auditor of Tallahassee, asking for help checking up on her sister, Mrs. J.H. Adams. Cooke says Mrs. Adams had recently written and was in desperate circumstances owing to the effects of the Great Depression, and that she had contemplated taking her own life. Bridges' reply is included; he reports having looked up Mrs. Adams and confirmed that she was alive and well. He included, however, that her husband was away in New York and facing destitute circumstances of his own.
