Description

Draft of an act of the Florida Territorial Legislative council requiring that clergymen, judges, and justices of the peace perform marriages and directing them to deposit marriage certificates at the office of the county clerk where the marriage took place. The bill was later annotated as having been from 1823, but it does not appear to have been passed during that legislative session, at least not in this form. It may have either failed to pass a vote in the Territorial Legislative Council or parts of the bill were incorporated into another act.
