State of Florida County of Jefferson This agreement made and entered into this, the first of January 1867, between F. A. Monroe, of the first part, [and] Bob Mitchel, George Mitchel, Robert Mitchel, of the second part, all of the above written state and county. This agreement witnesseth that the party of the first part agrees to furnish (3) three mules feed for the mules plows and plow gear and keep the same in good repair for the present year and the party of the first part agrees to furnish ninety acres of land, more or less, it being the place upon which the party of the second part now resides and known as the Gassaway place. And, the parties of the second part agree to pay said party of the first part fifteen bales of [cotton]. The [cotton] to be an average of the crop and the bales to weigh five hundred lbs each on an average and to be done up in a merchantable condition.
